Young Arts Project:
Neston High School

Apparently there is a "wonderful atmosphere in the Art Studio at Neston High School-a real buzz" according to teacher Mrs. Carley. The Neston Young Artists NADFAS Group is up and running and making great strides.

The 2010 /11 Programme covers collage, painting, etching, ceramics and slab building constructions based on architectural forms. After a recent visit to Port Sunlight,15 gifted Y9 students have been creating a composition suitable to make into a large painting using photographs and drawings from their visit. Also, this term the Group is focusing more of their work on monoprints and etchings. As a grand finale in the summer, plans are also underway for Neston High School to mount a keynote Exhibition of the Project in the Leonardo Centre during June 2011

All this art activity has been match-funded by the school, Chester DFAS and the Patricia Fay Fund.

We await Neston Young Artist's  focus on monoprints and etchings next term with great excitement.
