Young Arts Day at Kingsley
Cheshire artist Russell Kirk led an art day at Kingsley Community
School at the end of the Summer Term. The Head Teacher requested some
abstract and colourful banners to brighten up the hall walls. Under
Russell’s supervision forty children from Years 2 and 5 used masking
tape to create designs based on life cycles on four large cloth banners.
They then applied paint mixed with PVA glue and put the banners to dry
over the school railings during the lunch hour.
In the afternoon, the children peeled off the masking tape and used a
darker pen to outline their designs.
A successful day in a local school funded by Chester DFAS from our
monthly raffle.![]()
